FAQs

  • What does it cost?

Kerbing is priced like most trades; it is measured by the meter. The only difference is that it is measured in lineals, which is even easier - 3ft per lineal, or one step (don't do a John Cleese step either).

  • Will my kerbing fade?

Yes, the sun will deteriorate anything including you, me and the kerbing. Depending on the colour you choose, the stronger it is generally the more it will fade. The yellow oxide and sandstone colours are both available and fade more gracefully. Grey is also a very non-fuss choice and goes with anything.

  • Is there anything I can do to make the kerbing last longer?

Yes, you can prepare the ground by compaction and watering the day before we come, or even on the day of installation. The other thing you can do is seal the kerbing on the same day or after it has cured. Again we can offer both these services at a price.

  • Can you guys remove the grass and level the soil?

Yes, we have the machinery on board all the time and we can hire it out on the job. We charge for the labour time and the machinery cost, but most people find it is worthwhile getting us to do it.

  • Are you insured to do this?

Yes, we have public indemnity and accident insurance for well above the price of your average person's income in a lifetime.

  • Competitive or not?

We aim to be competitive, but we are up against smaller and less quality conscious businesses out there. We aren't trying to scare tactic anyone but there are many part-time performers in our trade that we simply want out. They pull up in civilian rigs as we call them; a small trailer with a small mixer on the back and maybe some yellow sand and a brickies cement taken off a building site somewhere. Please consider our position.

We have been full time at this business for over 12 years. You have to get the best product, you can afford to pay a little bit more (say 50 cents a lineal on your average job is $30 or $40 more). But I'd say with confidence that we won't miss out on a quote once given the chance to compete on product.

  • Why are you guys different?

In a word – experience and a product built for WA conditions. We have a colour saturation method, whereas most other companies have eastern states designed kerbing with a skimp of colour over the top of a not so thorough base–mix.

  • Who is going to install the kerbing?

To put is simply, the owners. If we are busy then a fully trained representative who has had plenty of training by us will do the installation. Our program is easily followed again because of the system we have chosen for mixing.

  • What sort of things do I have to choose?

To work out the price you simply have to follow our quote guidelines and choose the colour and style of kerbing you want according to the type of grass you have and the height of the gardens. Then you'll have to work out what extra preparation you would like us to do on the day and you can get the average costing.

  • Do I have to do anything before you come?

The simple answer is yes. If there are jobs to be done such as cleaning up the weeds and site to make it clear for the kerbing then we can start work straight away. Fitting five to seven inches of kerbing in your garden will sometimes require that you move a sprinkler or a tree or shrub. To make your estimate straight-forward we advise you to take our advice and do it! Trust us, we don't want the exercise either, but we charge extra for things like this.

What our customers say about us

Friendly and on time. The garden looks complete now with it’s edging and there is no longer grass growing into my garden beds. Great job thanks Budget Kerbing.
